The College of Fine Arts of Sichuan Normal University is located in Chenglong Campus of Sichuan Normal University, with beautiful campus environment and strong learning atmosphere. The College has many levels of college running, such as specialty education, postgraduate education, continuing education and training of foreign students and advanced scholars. In 2003, it was authorized to hold master's degree in fine arts; in 2008, it was assessed as a provincial characteristic specialty construction site in Sichuan Province; and in the same year, the provincial teaching demonstration center "Art Experimental Teaching Center of Sichuan Normal University" was approved to be established. There are 122 faculty members, including 93 full-time faculty members, including 9 professors, 28 associate professors, 11 doctors, 65 masters, 2 reserve candidates for academic and technological leaders in Sichuan Province, 7 teachers training projects in SICNU and 4 members of China Artists Association. There are more than 2100 undergraduate students and 180 postgraduate students.

Focusing on the school motto of "Morality, Erudition, Pragmatism and Beauty" and the goal of cultivating compound, applied and innovative talents, with the education of art teachers as its feature, all majors of painting and art design develop together to build a college of fine arts of comprehensive normal university, which effectively serves the needs of regional social development and has certain influence in China.. We should strive to cultivate fine arts and design professionals with excellent comprehensive humanities quality, solid basic professional knowledge, skilled basic professional skills, fully adapted to regional culture, education and economic development, and strong aesthetic, practical and innovative abilities.

The College has 10 kinds of advanced professional characteristic laboratories, such as model making laboratory, animation media laboratory, photography laboratory, printmaking laboratory, sculpture laboratory, ceramics laboratory and so on. Based on the provincial art experimental teaching demonstration center, it has carried out a large number of university-enterprise cooperative practical teaching. In the field of graduate education, the College aims to cultivate academic literacy and professional practical ability. It has established a graduate practice base and a cooperative training mechanism with many top-ranking fine arts industry units both inside and outside the province. A large number of professionals and art educators have been sent to society, universities and scientific research institutes.

The College takes the development of regional artistic characteristics research and the foreign exchange of art education as its important characteristics, has the characteristic scientific research team of "Southwest Cultural Heritage and Art Creativity" and "Art Experimental Teaching and Research Team", undertakes a number of national-level scientific research projects, and establishes extensive cooperation and research with local governments and educational units of counties and municipalities in the province. With project development, academic exchanges with universities at home and abroad are also carried out regularly. Artists from European and American countries visit and lecture frequently. Teachers of our college have also visited many countries for exhibition exchanges.

At present, the College has four undergraduate majors: painting, art, environmental design and visual communication design. The major of painting includes the direction of traditional Chinese painting, oil painting and printmaking; the major of fine arts includes the direction of art education and art theory; the major of environmental design includes the direction of interior design and landscape design; and the major of visual communication design includes the direction of brand strategy and new media design. Postgraduate education has three majors: Fine Arts, Subject Teaching and Master of Arts. Among them, master of Fine Arts has six majors: Fine Arts Education, Chinese Painting, Oil Painting, Print Painting, Fine Arts Design and History of Chinese Fine Arts. Master of Arts has four majors: Chinese Painting, Oil Painting, Print Painting and Watercolor Painting. Master's degree in art design includes three major directions: environmental design, visual communication design and new media art design.
