The College of Applied Technology of Sichuan Normal University is located in Guanghan Science and Education Park of Sichuan Normal University. Its predecessor was Nanyang College of Sichuan Normal University, which was established in 1999 with the approval of Sichuan Education Department. In 2002, it was renamed Information Technology College of Sichuan Normal University and renamed as the College of Applied Technology in November 2014. Actively responding to the call of national policy, based on the reform and exploration of applied talents training in our university, the College has provided a large number of high-quality applied talents for social and economic construction and development over the years.

The College is now the base for our college to receive and cultivate students who have been upgraded to a junior college. The college has eight upgraded majors: Chinese Language and Literature, English, Pre-school Education, Financial Management, Business Administration, Computer Science and Technology, Engineering Cost, Visual Communication Design, with 1249 students. As of September 2017, there were 65 faculty members and 53 part-time teachers, including 8 professors, 8 associate professors, 36 lecturers and 6 doctors. According to the specialty, there are basic education teaching and research department, economic management teaching and research department, engineering and art teaching and research department.

Insisting on the idea of "Building a college with characteristics, Strengthening its quality and Rejuvenating it with talents", aiming at the training of applied talents, the College has continuously deepened the reform of education and teaching, actively adjusted the professional structure, vigorously strengthened the construction of teaching staff, deeply implemented the teaching quality project, and made great efforts to innovate the talent training program of "platform + module". Exploring the new way of "Cooperative school-running, Cooperative education and practical education", focusing on the cultivation of students' practical skills, application ability and innovative spirit, the College has formed a clear train of thought for cultivating applied talents. At present, the College has established school-enterprise cooperation with more than 10 units. The College has initially formed an application-oriented undergraduate college with reasonable structure, complementary specialties, mutual support and multi-disciplinary coordinated development.

The College concentrates its efforts on the development of applied undergraduate education. Its goal is to train high-quality applied talents at the undergraduate level, to establish the orientation of "Locality, Application and Internationalization", to actively explore and cultivate high-quality applied talents to meet the needs of local economic development, and to promote application in an all-round way on the basis of locality, adherence to openness. The reform of undergraduate teaching has formed distinct characteristics. According to the needs of economic and social development, we should constantly innovate the training mode of talents, train more high-quality applied talents, and strive to build the college into an applied undergraduate college with excellent quality, distinctive characteristics and better adaptability to social development.
